WBKA is dedicated to supporting beekeepers and beekeeping in Wales, and we are continually reviewing and developing our services.
We work closely with the 19 regional beekeeping associations that are affiliated to us, and liaise with the Welsh and UK Governments and internationally.
All members receive either a printed or an electronic copy of our quarterly magazine, the Welsh Beekeeper, with news and information about bees and beekeeping. Our articles cover national and international issues.
Members receive Bee Disease insurance cover at attractive rates and we also provide Public Liability Insurance cover, also known as 3rd Party Liability insurance, for all members without extra payment.
For more details, and information on discounts offered by some beekeeping suppliers, please see this page: Membership benefits.
Our Member Information Privacy Policy is on this page: WBKA Policy Documents Association membership.
Most members of WBKA are indirect members through one of our 19 member Beekeeping Associations. We urge new beekeepers to join one of our member Associations wherever possible – the help and advice of experienced beekeepers is invaluable when starting out.
Please see the Member Associations page for their contact details.
Individual membership. If you can’t join one of our regional member Associations then why not become an Individual Member of WBKA? Please note that we only recommend Individual Membership for experienced beekeepers.
Individual Membership costs £30.00 a year, which includes Bee Disease Insurance cover for 3 colonies. (Additional cover is available. For the rates see here on the BDI website.)
To join WBKA as an Individual Member please complete and submit the following form.
Our Membership Secretary will contact you to arrange your membership and explain how to pay your fee. Our membership year is from 1st January to 31st December.
